Easter table decorating with homesense and TK maxx

I wanted to create a contemporary twist to a traditional setting, making my table display fun and colourful and in keeping with my home style. So of course I headed to homesense! The place full of everything you didn't know you needed! So here is what I created.

The colour green is a huge trend within interiors and I am in love with palm prints so when I spotted these palm leaf plates I just had to snap them up! They will also be great for summer BBQs. Homesense has a huge collection of bowls, plates and vases and I wanted my table to look very eclectic bringing in lots of colour and print so I opted for these two ceramic bowls to hold Easter eggs and treats!

I wanted to create a centre piece for my table to I picked up a glass dome which I filled with colourful chocolate eggs and a couple of daffodils - I love how this looks and I think this idea could work for lots of occasions by switching up the display within the dome.

Flowers were also a huge part of my display opting for brightly coloured tulips with long stems so I could hang a couple of egg decorations to add some height to the table.

I was super pleased with how my table turned out, I just need to organise a little Easter party!

Happy Easter!

* Thank you to Homesense/TK Maxx for the collaboration

Current favourites

I thought I would share my current favourite things which you have probably seen lots over on instagram and insta stories!

1-  My Bug bag! I have used this little bag constantly since I bought it about a month ago, it was super cheap at £7 from primark. I just find it goes with every outfit and with mini box bags being super on trend it ticks every box.

2- Bee necklace - This is more of an all time fav! I get so many compliments when wearing this little bee :)

3- Slogan tees - My style is super simple but I have been loving wearing tees with slogans. I actually designed this one so I guess Im a little biased! But I have included the super on trend colour of the moment red with the sassy slogan.

4- Ankle strap shoes - I was on the hunt for some kind of dressy but not too dressy shoes I could wear for going out for food or drinks, that would look nice with skinny jeans or dressed up a little more with dresses. I found these on ASOS and they just add something a little extra to an outfit and the ankle strap seems to elongate my leg which is a bonus!

5- The book the secret - I haven't been able to put this book down since I bought it about a week ago! I was kind of sceptical at first as I have heard a lot about it.Its basically about the power of the universe and how with positivity you are able to do anything and have anything you want.

6- NYX full coverage concealer - I was asking a friend of mine recommendations for good concealers and she said to try the NYX one and honestly it is incredible! So good at covering dark circles

7- Bareminerals blemish cleanser - I have started switching up my skincare and as I use bare minerals powder foundation I thought I would try their skincare. I found the cleanser left my skin feeling really clean and fresh and I have definitely noticed a difference using this alongside my other new ordinary products!

8- Ordinary blemish serum and Ordinary moisturiser - This skincare seems to be all over instagram and I did give into the hype, but I am so so happy I did! The serum in particular seems to have transformed my skin and I cannot believe how affordable it is! Defiantly stocking up.

9- Flowers - I currently have six vases full of flowers dotted around my house, honestly they make me so happy and brighten up the place.

10- Bourbon biscuits - No explanation needed

I hope you liked seeing my current favourites and if you have any new products or favs you think I might like do comment below :)

Shopping for mothers day with TK Maxx

As you will all know by now I LOVE TK Maxx and Homesense! They are the type of place where you can go regularly but always find something new. TK Maxx is the perfect place to shop for mothers day so when they asked if I would like to head into store and pick out some pieces for my mum I jumped at the chance. There is a wide range of home ware and goodies to pamper!

My Mum is actually heading to Cuba! so I thought I would stock her with the perfect holiday accessories. I was able to pick up some designer pieces for a fraction of the RRP price - The sunglasses were only £12,99 and I am sure my mum will fall in love with them and look super stylish exploring the pretty streets of Havana.

Now if your mum isn't heading to Cuba there are lots of other goodies you could treat her too. The candle section is insane! I actually picked one up for myself on this visit. There is also a really large beauty/pamper section - I think it would be lovely to fill a little box full of goodies! Like a little pamper hamper :)

TK Maxx suits all budgets and you are able to find some really unique one off pieces, defiantly worth a visit to pick up some special pieces for your mum and maybe some sneaky treats for yourself!

Christmas Preparations - DIY wreath

I thought I would share how I have prepared the house for the festivities!

Decoration

This year I made another wreath for our door but this time for the inside. You really can add anything you like to your own DIY wreath and its super easy! I collected together old Christmas decorations and vintage brooches to add a unique edge to mine. My auntie gave me a selection of holly which had yellow berries to match in with my colour theme in the room already. To finish off I wired in some battery operated fairy lights.

We opted for a real mini tree to go in the big open space we have ready for the wood burner and I just added fairy lights and a turquoise star on the top.Elsewhere I highlighted areas with more battery operated fairy lights which as you can see from the photos really make the place feel so christmasy and cosy. Oh and the large wooden star in the window adds a focal point! It was super super cheap from Asda!

Festive food and drink
We organised a little festive get together with some friends so I thought I would also share a few photos from that too. We set the dining table up with plates of nibbles and a little bar area in the kitchen adding fairy lights behind the bottles to make it look extra festive and merry!

I would love to see how you decorate for Christmas so be sure to link any blog posts or Instagram profiles below.I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and I am looking forward to sharing the start of the kitchen makeover in the new year.

Homeware range and Sofa area

I wanted to share these quick snaps of my sofa area with you as it features some of my cushion designs! I am super happy with this little section of the living room, I am just on the look out for a rug to add a little warmth to the look.

I thought I would order a couple myself to check the quality and they are really durable and perfectly made printed onto a lovely quality of fabric, shipped from america they take no longer than two weeks to arrive. My favourite has to be the blue glitter Cushion it just looks super dreamy with the blue tones mixed with silver glitter.  I love to mix and match patterns and the tropical palm design adds a vibrant pop of colour, the bristol print cushion features a photo I took using my Diana dreamer lens camera to capture Bristol suspension bridge I love this print as it reminds me of home.

I hope you like my new homeware designs which you can check out along with lots of other products and prints over at my Society 6 page! Ohh and also at the moment you can get money off and free shipping!

New winter collection- planning a shoot

This collection is made up of fun embroidered slogans including a take on the ‘crazy’ Christmas jumper. I wanted the collection to still have that grungy street photography kind of vibe so I have styled the pieces with frayed and reworked denim, beanies and chunky boots. Before I began designing this collection I put together this little mood board which helped me create a theme and gave me an idea of the type of final images I was hoping to achieve.

The team for this shoot was made up of two lovely models and myself as the photographer and stylist! I really love seeing my ideas come together, and as much as I also love working with other photographers and creatives I do like to shoot my own work from time to time.
The location is vital in getting the types of images I was hoping for, so the night before the shoot I headed out with my dad around Bristol to scout out the perfect spot! I found this really old grungy car park which looking closer had so many different background opportunity’s which made it perfect for my shoot. I also loved that I could play a lot with depth of field and composition as there were lots of metal staircases that gave an industrial type of vibe.

I am really happy with this first set of images! I am currently working on more pieces for the collection which I hope to shoot soon!
So keep an eye out and stay sassy!

Greece Photo diary - Lardos, Lindos, Pefkos

I Thought I would share a few snaps from my holiday to Greece. I Have previously been to Crete and also Zante but this was my first time in Rhodes, we stayed in a lovely little area called Lardos in a hotel only a couple of minutes from the beach which was perfect for the relaxing holiday we were hoping for.

My favourite things to do whilst in Rhodes-

Get lost in the winding cobbled streets of Lindos , I could of literally spend hours just exploring the little streets and photographing the pretty white and blue buildings and the views are just so beautiful.

Eat a lot of Hommus it is so dreamy! I think I had it every single day whilst on holiday! I also loved the tomatoes, feta and lamb kleftiko YUmmmmm

Eat in Pefkos, there are lots of restaurants and cocktail bars to choose from in pefkos and a wander down to the beach is defiantly a must, I just loved looking at all the blue and white houses covered in pink flowers, there were so many dragonflies too!

Visit Lardos town square of an evening, the restaurants serve amazing Greek dishes which are super cheap! we were eating three course meals for around fifty euro for the both of us! Our favourite restaurants were Roulas and Valantinas, Memories cocktail bar is also lovely,I loved sipping my strawberry daiquiri and just watching the locals go about their day.

Lastly Take a spare suitcase!
