Weekend guide to visiting Brighton

We recently took a little weekend break away to Brighton. Its a place I have always wanted to visit and as soon as we got there I wondered why we hadn't been before now!

Luck was on our side as the weather was incredible for the UK , People were actually sunbathing in bikinis on the beach! I didn't go that far but it was lovely to have an ice cream looking out to the pier.

Things you must do when you visit -

Get lost in the lanes - The 'lanes' are a collection of narrow lanes in Brighton which are famous for their small shops, cafes and narrow alleyways.

Where to eat

- You must try a cupcake from angel food bakery , I mean just look at them.... We tried the salted caramel and the strawberries and cream ssoooo dreamy

cloud 9 - Do the BEST milkshakes and ice creams.

- Giggling squid for crazy good Thai food

My favourite thing to do in Brighton was just to walk around and look at all the pretty little coloured houses, graffiti and quirky little shops. If you go into snoopers paradise you can use a vintage style photo booth for just £3! such a cute little souvenir of our trip.

I cant wait for my next visit so if you have any other suggestions do comment below.

Behind the scenes of spring summer 2016 'Queen Bee' ASOS marketplace collection

This post is a little different to my usual interior room make overs but I thought some of you might be interested to see my new Asos marketplace collection! this one has to be my favourite collection yet! I just let myself be experimental mixing in my love of sassy slogans with new pieces mixed with a few one off vintage reworked jackets. I also started to introduce some of my embroidered imagery through the use of bees and florals but with an edgy twist embroidered onto oversized sweaters, crops and 90s style skirts and bombers.

My all time favourite piece of this collection has to be the ‘Queen bee’ embroidered bomber jacket – I just love the contrast of the silver thread on the black and how detailed my little bees are, I am looking to experiment further with colour introducing more summery pastels but also more imagery looking at bugs and cute summer theme motifs!

I created some mood-boards to use for shoot inspiration but these also inspired me through my design development.

I wanted to share a little look behind the scenes of how I created the collection but also shoot day! I connected with photographer Vicky Wheeler I just loved her dreamy style of photography and her way of creating a story through her images. The models we used for the shoot were absolutely perfect for the look and garments.

we decided on a day and planned the location which would give the retro vibes we were looking for. Of course being England it rained! You would never know from the final images what was really going on behind the scenes!
