Christmas Preparations - DIY wreath

I thought I would share how I have prepared the house for the festivities!

Decoration

This year I made another wreath for our door but this time for the inside. You really can add anything you like to your own DIY wreath and its super easy! I collected together old Christmas decorations and vintage brooches to add a unique edge to mine. My auntie gave me a selection of holly which had yellow berries to match in with my colour theme in the room already. To finish off I wired in some battery operated fairy lights.

We opted for a real mini tree to go in the big open space we have ready for the wood burner and I just added fairy lights and a turquoise star on the top.Elsewhere I highlighted areas with more battery operated fairy lights which as you can see from the photos really make the place feel so christmasy and cosy. Oh and the large wooden star in the window adds a focal point! It was super super cheap from Asda!

Festive food and drink
We organised a little festive get together with some friends so I thought I would also share a few photos from that too. We set the dining table up with plates of nibbles and a little bar area in the kitchen adding fairy lights behind the bottles to make it look extra festive and merry!

I would love to see how you decorate for Christmas so be sure to link any blog posts or Instagram profiles below.I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and I am looking forward to sharing the start of the kitchen makeover in the new year.

Dining area Makeover - Oak Dining table

I thought I would share some photos of the dining area of our living room which we have tried to zone into different areas to make best use of the small space and I actually think we have managed to make the small space appear bigger and now we use every part of it. You can see the welcome area and Fireplace makeover on the blog too!

As you can see from the images above we designed and George made the table and benches himself. We opted for benches to allow us to push them away under the table when we weren't using them, also stopping large chairs blocking the views. George added a glass strip down the centre to add a little unique touch which we have added fairy lights in for Christmas but we could change up over the seasons to best suit the style of the room.
I think this table perfectly suits our home tying in the contrasting mix of materials we have used throughout the room with the oak tops and clean white legs mixed with the modern glass.
