Studio Sneak Peak

My work room is about the only room in the house that is currently coming together! I thought I would share with you some little close ups and details of areas in my studio, before sharing what the room was like when we moved in and what it is like complete!
We still have a little painting and some hanging of clothing rails, also purchasing a sofa bed for guests!
But so far I am super happy with it and it is proving an inspiring place to work.
Hope you like!

DIY Slogan Cushion

We have lived in our new home for just over three months now! But still working on actual building work (so none of the fun stuff!) I cant help jumping ahead and making the place feel a little homely with a few quirky DIY pieces! The first is this 'adventure' cushion for our bed!
I'm so pleased with the outcome, and it was super easy.
I bought the cushion inner and cover from Ikea totalling £6 , stitched black pom pom trim to the edges and hand painted my favourite slogan! I took inspiration from a slogan collection I created for Asos Marketplace

I am so excited to make more quirky little pieces for our home!

DIY Decanter Lights

I have to admit, I am a bit of a hoarder!
But it sounds better if I refer to myself as a collector! I collect everything, with my reasoning being 'It will come in handy one day' and it usually does! Vintage furniture, glass, china, fabrics, clothing, accessories and ornaments make up the majority of my collection. My cut glass collection is probably one of my most impressive.I have quite a few cut glass decanters and as I'm not a big drinker (unless its a gin and tonic) I don't use the decanters for their intended purpose. When we first moved in I was looking for a place to display the decanters I have been collecting, I purchased some cheap battery powered fairy lights and placed them inside of my three favourite decanters!
Viola..... The easiest DIY bedside light!!

The Door

I have been obsessed with colourful doors since forever!
Whenever I see a coloured door it makes me smile! I mean what is the use in having the same door as every other house? a door is the first thing to be seen, a place to welcome your guests and the entrance to your home. I think the outside of your house is just as important as the design inside.
We recently purchased our first house, its a little three storey end terrace. When we first viewed it I knew straight away it would be the perfect first home for us to completely make our own. It needs quite a lot of work but we (mostly me) are excited to get started with decorating each room! We started with the front door, originally it had a rather bland PVC door which was very uninspiring! As George is a Joiner he designed and made the door, but my input was choosing the colour, which had to be turquoise. It’s almost finished but we are still on the hunt for the perfect door knocker, so if you know where we can find one give me an email! Once the outside of the house is complete I will post a before and after photo so you can see what difference a pretty door makes!
A little collection of pretty doors I have Snapped!
